Kia ora, Talofa, Mālō e lelei, Bula, Ni hao, Kamusta and Greetings from the Panmure District School staff, students, and board of trustees.

Panmure District School is a full primary school which caters for students from Year 1 to Year 8.  We are a relatively small school with just over 100 students and have a diverse community with over 15 different cultures represented.

We aim to provide an holistic approach to educating our students.  Students at Panmure District School are not only taught the basic curriculum areas but are supported and extended in all curriculum areas. We believe that there are many important facets to the education of our childrenincluding nurturing growth, encouraging progress and development, supporting effort and recognising achievement. We have high expectations for all of our students and know that they can all achieve with the right support.

Our students know that when they attend school each day they are safe.  We have a comprehensive behaviour management framework based around the principles in Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L).  By the time students finish at our school we expect them to RISE to be the best versions of themselves possible.  At our school our values are the acronym RISE - Respect, Integrity, Self-Management and Empathy.  Our students will RISE for themselves, RISE for our property and the environment and RISE for others.

We understand the importance of the home and school relationship so we actively encourage whānau to get involved in whatever ways possible.  Students have the opportunity to share their learning through Exhibitions of Learning throughout the year with their whānau also, this can be done in several ways including our school Art Exhibition, Cultural Performance Evening, Class Performance Evenings etc.  They also share their learning through our student led conferences which happen in Term 1 and 3.

Students at our school have the opportunity to develop their talents in a wide variety of areas.  We are one of the only local school to attend all of the sporting competitions for the Tamaki and Eastern Schools Competition for Year 7 and 8 students.  In 2019, we will also be attending sports competitions outside of our local area for the first time.  They are also given opportunities in visual arts, music, dance, drama, leadership and service.  We have an options programme which allows students to choose different learning areas to have extra lessons in, including robotics.  We understand the importance of Education Outside the Classroom, that is why we take our Year 7 and 8 students on a school camp.

We encourage and welcome the community to get involved with our school.  If you would like to get involved please contact the office or your child’s classroom teacher.
Kind Regards
